  • Midwest: The biggest increase in diesel prices this week occurred in the Midwest for 8 cents to $5.382. 
  • Rocky Mountain: In the Rockies, diesel prices dropped 16 cents to $5.256.
  • Gulf Coast: Along the Gulf Coast, diesel prices dropped 11 cents to $5.310.
  • West Coast: Along the West Coast, diesel prices dropped 10 cents to $6.822. Without including California, diesel prices dropped 18 cents to $6.183.
  • East Coast: Along the East Coast, diesel prices dropped 7 cents to $5.674.

According to AAA Motor Club (AAA), the current national diesel price average is $5.650. This is 4 cents higher than EIA’s current estimate and $2.07 higher than this time last year.

What are the current gasoline prices across the U.S.?

The current national average on-highway gasoline price is $4.123, according to EIA, 0.3 cents higher than last week’s average. 

Here are this week’s gasoline price highlights from each region of the U.S.:

  • Midwest: The biggest increase in gasoline prices this week occurred in the Midwest for 12 cents to $3.886.
  • Rocky Mountain: In the Rockies, gas prices rose 0.2 cents to $3.895.
  • East Coast: Along the East Coast, gas prices dropped 5 cents to $3.954.
  • Gulf Coast: Along the Gulf Coast, gas prices dropped 5 cents to $3.741.
  • West Coast: Along the West Coast, gas prices dropped 2 cents to $5.377. Without including California, gas prices rose 1 cent to $4.956.

According to AAA, the current national gasoline price average is $4.118. This is 1 cent lower than EIA’s current estimate and 93 cents higher than this time last year. 

In a recent press release, AAA stated: “Crude oil prices remain high, even as they’ve fluctuated in recent days following the announcement of a 2-week ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. The price for a barrel of crude dropped below $100 but then rose again, highlighting the volatility of oil markets and fluidity of geopolitical events.”
