As the holiday season kicks off, diesel and gas prices are seeing slight drops. The national average on-highway diesel price dropped 4 cents to $3.831, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on November 24. Gas prices dropped 0.1 cents to $3.061. 

What are the current diesel prices across the U.S?

Here are this week’s diesel price highlights from each region of the U.S.:

  • Rocky Mountain: The biggest drop in diesel prices this week occurred in the Rockies for 9 cents to $3.723.
  • Midwest: In the Midwest, diesel prices dropped 6 cents to $3.850.
  • West Coast: Along the West Coast, diesel prices dropped 5 cents to $4.514. Without including California, diesel prices dropped 7 cents to $4.108.
  • Gulf Coast: Along the Gulf Coast, diesel prices dropped 3 cents to $3.459.
  • East Coast: Along the East Coast, diesel prices rose 1 cent to $3.862.

According to AAA Motor Club (AAA), the current national diesel price average is $3.785. This is 5 cents lower than EIA’s current estimate and 26 cents higher than this time last year.

What are the current gasoline prices across the U.S.?

The current national average on-highway gasoline price is $3.061, according to EIA, 0.1 cent lower than last week’s average. 

Here are this week’s gasoline price highlights from each region of the U.S.:

  • Rocky Mountain: The biggest drop in gasoline prices this week occurred in the Rockies for 8 cents to $2.872.
  • West Coast: Along the West Coast, gas prices dropped 5 cents to $4.070. Without including California, gas prices dropped 4 cents to $3.702.
  • Midwest: In the Midwest, gas prices dropped 5 cents to $2.858. 
  • Gulf Coast: Along the Gulf Coast, gas prices rose 4 cents to $2.643.
  • East Coast: Along the East Coast, gas prices rose 3 cents to $2.985.

According to AAA, the current national gasoline price average is $3.055. This is 1 cent lower than EIA’s current estimate and 0.1 cent higher than this time last year. 

In a recent press release, AAA said, “Despite the burst of gasoline demand that will occur during Thanksgiving week, overall demand is low this time of year, which helps keep pump prices down. The national average has seen few fluctuations in 2025 thanks to low crude oil prices and no major storms affecting Gulf Coast refineries.”
