Kenworth Truck Co. has announced Paccar Financial will offer double the basic vehicle extended warranty for customers who buy new, eligible Kenworth Class 8 vocational trucks and finance through Paccar Financial. The company will offer a no-cost, 2-yr./200,000-mi. basic vehicle extended warranty — double the standard, 1-yr./100,000-mi. warranty — through Dec. 31, 2008. According to Kenworth, the extended warranty is valued at over $1,350.

SAF-Holland has announced the formation of an aftermarket business unit dedicated specifically to the replacement parts sales and service business. The aftermarket business joins SAF-Holland's powered vehicle systems and trailer suspension systems units. According to the company, SAF-Holland's aftermarket business unit will pursue the best technologies from the former SAF and Holland organizations to be distributed as “SAF-Holland Original Parts.” SAF-Holland branded “Original Parts” will carry the same quality and specifications as the original part, the company said.

To showcase its air disc brakes, Bendix Commercial Vehicles LLC has created two videos depicting the system's responsiveness and posted them on YouTube. The first video outlines the features of the system while the second video shows a side-by-side comparison between Bendix's air disc brakes and drum brake configurations. The videos show viewers the improvement in stopping time and responsiveness achieved when air disc brakes are used. www.bendix.com

For customers interested in enhanced engine performance for equipment operating in a wide range of temperature and service conditions, ConocoPhillips has introduced Triton ECT 5W40 full synthetic diesel engine oil.

A premium-tier API CJ-4 oil made from synthetic stocks, the oil is designed for lubrication of low-emissions diesel engines with aftertreatment devices. It will be available under the Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 Lubricants brands, said Reginald Dias, director, commercial products.

The lubricant meets requirements of engines compliant with 2007 emissions regulations and meets heavy-duty oil specifications for Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Mack, and Volvo engines. It also provides improved soot handling and increased oxidation stability, the company said.
