    Users of the Genisys diagnostic scan tool from OTC can upgrade to a new heavy-duty standard software package that covers a wide variety of Class 4 to Class 8 trucks. Intended for mixed medium- and heavy-duty fleets operating in vocational and other applications, the new release enables the Genisys tool to access data using J1587, J1708 and J1939 heavy-duty standards, as well as CAN, engine, transmission and ABS diagnostics.

    The new software covers Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, International, GMC, Ford and many other Class 4-8 trucks, according to OTC. Engine, transmission and ABS diagnostic coverage includes Bendix, Detroit Diesel, Eaton, Meritor WABCO, Caterpillar, Cummins, Allison and other common components.
