Toyo Tires’ new M157 free-rolling axle tire has been verified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay program.
The tire, designed for long haul, over-the-road operations, is built using Toyo’s proprietary e-balance technology, resulting in a uniform, consistent tire that fights irregular wear while improving fuel economy, the company said.
The M157 also includes a new belt package and 13/32-in. tread depth for even contact pressure distribution across the tread surface, according to Toyo. A “Deep Differential Groove” design also minimizes irregular wear while stone ejector grooves minimize stone retention to help maintain casing integrity for a long service life.
It is available in four sizes: 11R22.5, 295/75R22.5, 11R24.5 and 285/75R24.5.
