Pressure Systems International (PSI) is advising customers to purchase proprietary valve stem connection hoses as replacements for the Meritor Tire Inflation System (MTIS).
The reason, PSI said, is that a proprietary hose delivers 95% of available air pressure to the tires while aftermarket and will-fit parts can deliver much less. Less air flow can compromise the performance of the MTIS, sold through ArvinMeritor.
To make proprietary valves clearly identifiable, PSI has included a yellow stripe and imprinted the PSI name on the flexible valve stem connection hoses. The company has produced a video to demonstrate the differences air flow can have on the MTIS.
