SuperRigs competition announced

March 2, 2012

The 30th anniversary Shell Rotella SuperRigscompetition will be held at the Speedco in Joplin, MO, May 17-19.

Total cash and prices for this year’s event will surpass $25,000. The competition will feature events for drivers, their families, and the entire community. A truck parade through downtown Joplin will take place as well along with concerts and fireworks.

Speedcois located off Route I-44 at Exit 11. During the event, the facility will be holding a grand re-opening celebration for location, which was severely damaged last year by a tornado.

Additional details about concerts, special events and prizes to be awarded at the 30th Shell Rotella SuperRigs will be announced at the Mid-America Trucking Show in March.

Trucks are judged by industry professionals who work for major trucking publications and broadcast companies.  Judges score the rigs on exterior appearance, design, detail/finish, originality, and workmanship.  In total, 18 working trucks receive awards for categories such as Best of Show, Tractor, Tractor/Trailer Combination and Classic categories.
