Betts Spring earns Paccar supplier award

July 10, 2012

For the second time, Betts Spring has been named to Paccar’s elite group of suppliers for meeting quality expectation of 50 PPM (product defects expressed in parts per million). Betts was previously honored in 2007.

The spray suppression products producer manufactures Betts and Life-Time Fenders as well as other proprietary components for Paccar at its Fresno, CA, facility. Betts achieved a PPM score of zero at the plant.

“It is truly an honor to receive this recognition from Paccar, a highly valued customer of Betts,” said Mike Betts, president. “Throughout our operations, everyone is committed to meeting or exceeding the expectations of our customers for quality products delivered on schedule.  We appreciate that Paccar has recognized our effort and superior results.  Betts diligently pursues excellence for Paccar and every other customer we serve.”

According to Betts, its Paccar products were made error-free more than 99.995% of the time in 2011. The company said that to achieve the honor, in addition to meeting the 50 PPM standard, a manufacturer must also maintain a warranty claims rate of less than 50 PPM (one claim per 20,000 receipts); Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) submission acceptance rate of 98%; an on-time submission rate of greater than or equal to 99% for the prior six months; maintaining a quality system in compliance with QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949 or ISO 9001 for 2008; and passing Paccar’s Supplier Readiness Review.
