Continental’s Conti EcoPlus HD3 verified by SmartWay

The new Conti EcoPlus HD3 long-haul, highway drive tire has been verified by the U.S. EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership as a low rolling resistant tire for Class 8, line-haul tractor-trailers, Continental Tire the Americas said.

The HD3 is a third-generation tire available in sizes 11R22.5, 295/75R22.5, 11R24.5 and 285/75R24.5. A ContiTread retread is expected to be available the middle of this year, the company said.   

SmartWay-verified tires are tires that can reduce NOx emissions and fuel use by 3% or more, relative to the best selling new tires for line haul Class 8 tractor-trailers, according to the SmartWay Transport Partnership website. Continental has 19 new and retreaded truck tire product lines currently listed as verified by SmartWay.
