Battery-powered portable power supply

March 4, 2013

A new portable power supply from Larson Electronics can provide up to 24 hours of power on a single charge. The BPLI-2K-120 portable power supply is powered by a 1,200 watt hour lithium ion battery and includes a wheeled housing with telescoping handle for easy transport.

The power supply produces 120 VAC power for running everything from lighting, to cameras, to computers, and other devices.

It is rated for 2,000 watts continuous use and 4,000 watt peak output and can provide power for up to 24 hours depending upon the load the unit is placed under. The onboard lithium ion battery is rated for 2,000 charge cycles at an average 75% depth discharge, meaning the unit will provide thousands of charge and discharge cycles before the battery loses peak effectiveness, the company said.

Illuminated indicators allow operators to easily monitor performance and include charging status, power output, runtime, and battery charge level status. This unit can be recharged in as little as 70 minutes from any standard 120 VAC power outlet, and produces 120 VAC output distributed through 4 onboard GFCI protected outlets to allow connecting multiple devices.

This unit also features a heavy duty water resistant housing constructed of polyethylene for high durability, and a telescoping handle and wheels that operate much the same as wheeled luggage. It can be transported in the back seat of a car or in the trunk, then simply rolled to the desired location. The entire assembly weighs 58 lbs. and is approximately the size of a large suitcase, making it ideal for operators who need a power supply that can be easily transported and deployed.

“The BPLI-2K-120 lithium ion battery driven power supply harnesses the lightweight durability of the latest technology for commercial and industrial applications,” said Rob Bresnahan with LarsonElectronics.com. “I think of this lithium ion battery based power supply as a hassle free battery.  This virtual electronic generator delivers 120 volts for 2,000 watts silently with a 90 minute maximum recharge time.”
