April 29, 2013

Truckworx Kenworth-Birmingham has been named the Kenworth 2012 Paccar MX Engine Dealer of the Year for the U.S. and Canada and Rihm Kenworth has been named the 2012 Kenworth Medium Duty Dealer of the Year.

The awards were presented at the recent Kenworth Dealer Meeting, held at the Paccar Engine Co.’s manufacturing plant in Columbus, MS.

According to Kenworth, the Paccar MX Engine Dealer of the Year award recognizes the Kenworth dealer that excelled in 2012 at assisting customers to specify the Paccar MX engine in their new Kenworth trucks, while achieving high customer satisfaction by providing outstanding engine support through trained technicians and sales personnel, ample Paccar MX parts inventory, and specialized service bay tooling.

“We’re proud that two out of every three Class 8 Kenworth trucks we sold in 2012 was powered by a Paccar MX engine,” said Bob Mitchell, CEO of Truckworx Kenworth–Birmingham. “To support customers after the engine sale, we have made significant investments in Paccar MX technician training, state-of-the art diagnostics equipment and parts inventory. It’s a very nice honor to be recognized with this award.”

Truckworx also operates Kenworth dealerships serving Dothan, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery and Thomasville AL, and Jackson, MS.

“More than 17,000 Kenworth Class 8 trucks with the Paccar MX engine are now in operation in various customer applications throughout the United States and Canada,” said Gary Moore, Kenworth general manager and Paccar vice president. “Truckworx Kenworth – Birmingham worked closely with customers to communicate the many benefits of the Paccar MX engine in 2012. They were a leader among Kenworth dealers in achieving an outstanding rate of customer acceptance for the Paccar MX engine and providing exceptional customer support.”

Rihm Kenworth earned the Medium Duty Dealer of the Year award for the second time, also winning in 2011.

The annual Kenworth Medium Duty Dealer of the Year Award recognizes outstanding leadership and dealership focus on growing Kenworth’s medium duty truck business, which features the Kenworth T170, T270, T370, T440 and T470 conventional trucks, and K270 and K370 cabovers, Kenworth said.

“We certainly did not rest on our previous success,” said Kari Rihm, president and CEO of Rihm Kenworth, which has locations in St. Paul, Albert Lea and Sauk Centre, MN., and Superior, WI, and sold more than 300 Kenworth medium duty trucks to capture the top sales spot among Kenworth dealers in 2012.

“We wanted not only to exceed our medium duty truck sales goals, but more importantly, our customers’ high expectations for quality and service. The excellent Kenworth medium duty product line and our employees’ dedication helped Rihm Kenworth serve customers in highly diverse markets, including home and road construction, fire apparatus, disposal, sanitation, wrecker, lawn care, propane services, petroleum, agriculture, beverage, medical and pickup and delivery,” Rihm said. “We continued our focus on medium duty trucks by adding medium duty salespeople, expanding product and sales training for employees, and further strengthening our customer relationships. To receive the Kenworth Medium Duty Dealer of the Year award for the second year in a row is deeply gratifying.”
