Hannay releases reel for live electric cable

June 20, 2013

Hannay has released an industrial-duty spring rewind reel for live electric cable for devices such as power tools, lights and machinery.

The SCR700 is ideal for the transportation industry, the company said, as it can be easily mounted on trucks and trailers. Equipped with adjustable four-way roller assemblies, the SCR700 can be mounted in virtually any location.

A heavy-duty spring motor provides self-contained rewind power, with a non-sparking ratchet assembly that locks the reel when the desired length of cable is payed out. The SCR700 houses a standard 45 amp, 3-conductor, 600 volt collector assembly with #8 gauge wiring from the collector ring to the junction box.

It accommodates 50 to 120 ft. of 14/3 to 8/3-in. live electrical cable, and is equipped with a four-way roller assembly.  A cable stop is also available to prevent roller and connector damage and permit the adjustment of free cable length.
