New additives that have been used in diesel engines for nearly 10 years in New York City is now being made available to commercial operators of diesel-powered equipment of all types.

MaxLube for engine oil and Dee Zol for diesel fuel can improve fuel economy while decreasing wear and maintenance for engines, said Lion Heart Industries.

According to the company, users can save anywhere from $5 to $25 for every $1 spent on its products. Older engines will see the greatest savings.

MaxLube is mixed into engine oil in a ratio of 8 ounces for every three quarts of either synthetic or petroleum-based engine oil or manual transmissions. Dee Zol fuel additive is added at a ratio of 1 ounce for every 10 gals. of diesel fuel.
