The 2025 FleetOwner 500: Private list ranks the most prominent private fleet operations in the U.S. by total registered commercial power units. Private fleets are transportation operations for companies whose primary business is not over-the-road trucking. This includes well-known retail, utility, service, waste, construction, and other businesses.
Released in April, the FO500 experienced numerous ranking shifts following a busy 2024 marked by company acquisitions, mergers, consolidations, and expansions.
In addition to ranking the largest private fleet operations overall, FleetOwner breaks down these companies into categories based on equipment, cargo types, and industry segments. This media gallery focuses on the fleets with the most trailers.
