Chevrolet Silverado models’ brake pressure switch may short and cause fire

General Motors is recalling certain 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD vehicles. The brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch and cause a short circuit. An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.

This recall potentially affects 62,468 vehicles. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the brake pressure switch wire harness. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed July 28. Second letters will be mailed once the remedy is available. Owners may contact GM's customer assistance number at 866-467-9700. GM's number for this recall is N242482680. Vehicles in this recall that were previously repaired under 23V266 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Mack Anthem, Granite models’ improperly routed power cables

Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2025 Anthem and Granite vehicles. The power cables may have been improperly routed, which can cause an electrical short. An electrical short can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. An electrical short can also cause the cables to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

This recall potentially affects eight vehicles. Dealers will reroute the power cables. Owner notification letters were mailed June 16. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0480.

Mack MD models’ delay returning to engine idle

Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2024-2026 Mack MD vehicles. When the controller area network communications are interrupted, the throttle signal from the electromobility control unit may retain the last known throttle setting, and the engine will not return to idle as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 124, "Accelerator Control Systems." An engine that does not return to idle quickly enough can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 148 vehicles. Dealers will update the control unit software. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 19. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0481.

Reading Truck Body models’ front rail gear welds may fail

Reading Truck Body is recalling certain 2021 Rail Gear HD trucks. Welds may crack and fail, allowing the front rail gear to shift and contact the road. The rail gear dragging on the ground can cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects seven vehicles. Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Reading will reweld the joints between the rail gear and chassis. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 18. Owners may contact Reading's customer service at 610-775-3301.
