The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently issued recall notices for commercial vehicles, including brands from Shyft Group.

Owners of the affected vehicles should be contacted via U.S. mail over the next two months, but fleet and independent owners of these vehicles can contact the NHTSA Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit nhtsa.gov for more details. More information on each recall can be found below.

Blue Arc models’ parking brake may not engage

Shyft Group is recalling certain 2024-2025 Blue Arc BA4L-800 vehicles. The spacer for the brake caliper may be too big, resulting in an increased air gap. A brake caliper with an increased air gap may prevent the parking brake from properly engaging, allowing the vehicle to roll away and increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 150 vehicles. Shyft will replace the brake calipers. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in July. Owners may contact Shyft customer service at 800-237-7806. Shyft's number for this recall is 25-17.

Ultimaster Truck Body models’ turn signals and brake lights may fail

Shyft Group is recalling certain 2015-2025 Utilimaster Truck Body vehicles. The signal converter may fail, which can cause the brake lights and turn signals to become inoperative. Inoperative turn signals and brake lights can fail to alert other road users to the driver's intentions to turn or stop, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 2,785 vehicles. Shyft will inspect and repair the signal converter connecters as necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 4. Owners may contact Shyft customer service at 800-237-7806. Shyft's number for this recall is 25-16.
