The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently issued recall notices for commercial vehicles, including brands from Ford, Freightliner, Mack, and more.

Ford F-150 models’ parking lights may flicker

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022 F-150 vehicles that were repaired incorrectly under recall 22V686. The parking lights may flicker when the headlights are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Flickering parking lights can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 1,278 vehicles. Dealers will replace the light-emitting diode control module and update the software. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 15. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25C37.

Ford F-150 models’ rear axle hub bolt may break

Ford is recalling certain 2023-2025 F-150 vehicles equipped with the Trailer Tow Max Duty package and a 9.75-inch heavy-duty axle with a 3/4 float axle design. The rear axle hub bolt may fatigue and break, which can result in damage to the axle hub splines. Damaged axle hub splines can result in a vehicle rollaway when in park without the parking brake applied or cause a loss of drive power. Either of these conditions can increase the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 103,174 vehicles. Dealers will replace the left and right rear axle shaft assemblies. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in phases, beginning August 18 through May 22, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S82. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 23V896.

Freightliner models’ intermediate steering shaft welds may fail

Fontaine Modification Company is recalling certain 2022-2024 Freightliner Business Class M2 vehicles. Welds may crack and fail, allowing the intermediate steering shaft assembly to detach from the steering column. A steering shaft that detaches can result in a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 176 vehicles. Fontaine Modification will replace the intermediate steering shaft. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 2025. Owners may contact Fontaine Modification customer service at 800-366-8246.

International Motors models’ clogged port may delay or prevent the release of the service brakes

International Motors is recalling certain 2024-2026 LT and 2025 RH trucks. The hill start assist (HSA) exhaust port may become clogged, delaying or preventing the release of the service brakes. Brakes that are still engaged while driving increase the risk of crash.

This recall potentially affects 1,129 vehicles. Dealers will relocate the HSA valve exhaust. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 29. Owners may contact International customer service at 800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 25508.

Mack models’ loss of steering control

Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2025 Anthem and 2025-2026 Pioneer vehicles. The dynamic steering and oversteer guidance feature may malfunction and cause a loss of steering control. A loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 32 vehicles. The oversteer guidance feature will be disabled through an over-the-air update or by a dealer. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 5. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0483.

Volvo VN models’ loss of steering control

Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Volvo New VN trucks. The dynamic steering and oversteer guidance feature may malfunction and cause a loss of steering control. A loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 2,487 vehicles. The oversteer guidance feature will be disabled through an over-the-air update or by a dealer. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 5. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2506.
