• Marangoni debuts OTR tire mover

    June 6, 2014

Marangoni Tread North America has introduced a new device that it said makes the movement of large off-the-road (OTR) tires easier.

The Easy Gripper is available for purchase now by any OTR, commercial or wholesale tire operation.

The device fits forklifts and is designed to safely and efficiently handle large OTR tires up to 29.5R29L5, the company said. Per Marangoni, the three-point arms of the Easy Gripper are coated with granite- based grit and thus can grip a tire securely even when it is wet, icy or oily.

According to Marangoni, the advanced tire-gripping technology of the device allows the operator to:

    • Manipulate OTR tires for loading and unloading from trucks both horizontally and vertically
    • Easily and safely stack tires
    • Reduce mounting/dismounting time of tires on/off hubs

The company also noted that the device eliminates tire bead or side wall damage caused by forks and decreases the risk of accidents or injuries resulting from tires not properly secured while being moved.

The Easy Gripper features 100-deg tire rotation and a center-mounted, wide-angle camera.
