2026 FleetOwner 500: Private fleets with the most trailers

Walmart, Amazon, and AT&T top trailer-heavy private fleets shaping retail, telecom, and distribution networks.

Trailers are the backbone of the trucking industry, the equipment that transports cargo across the country or helps fleets do important jobs in construction, utilities, and other industries. Trailer types include dry van, flatbed, refrigerated, tank, lowboy, dump, and more. While the top two fleets remained the same as last year, the rest of this Top 10 saw minor ups and downs, along with a few new entries.

The 2026 FleetOwner 500: Private list ranks the most prominent private carriers in the U.S. by total registered power units. FleetOwner breaks these fleets down into categories, either by equipment or by the fleet's main cargo type or segment. This media gallery will focus on the fleets with the most trailers.
