Trojan Battery Co. has intrdocued a high-performance AGM 31 heavy duty starting battery. The TransPower ST1000 is built for demanding starting applications and complements Trojan’s line of AGM lead acid batteries, according to the company.

“We are excited to be able to offer the heavy duty trucking market this powerful and extremely rugged starting battery,” said Elke Hirschman, vp-marketing. “Trojan’s TransPower ST1000 is designed precisely to meet the high demands of heavy-duty starting applications.

“Trucks, refrigeration units and commercial vehicles that depend on batteries with superior cranking power will find the TransPower ST1000 to be the highest quality AGM starting truck battery available in the industry today,” he added.

The ST1000 is a sealed, maintenance-free battery that promises longer battery life due to its high-density paste formulation that optimizes density, porosity and surface area, Trojan said.

The company also pointed out that a heavy-duty plate design that is thicker than standard starting battery plates incorporates a grid network that guides power to a focal point of charge resulting in 1,000 cold cranking amps.
