What’s more American than a NASCAR speedway, a drone show, fireworks, country music, and trucks? Last night in Las Vegas, Mack Trucks put all of those elements together to celebrate the launch of two trucks: A brand new vocational model, Mack Keystone, and a newly designed Mack Granite.
“These trucks are made to dominate the hard work … that you guys do of construction, refuse, concrete, and of course, heavy regional hauling,” Volvo Group CEO Martin Lundstedt said, addressing a crowd at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Donning cowboy hats and large belt buckles with Mack’s bulldog logo on them, Mack Trucks North America President Jonathan Randall and Mack President Stephen Roy presented the highlights of these two new rigs.
The redesigned Mack Granite
Mack’s definition of braun is its Granite, “here to help you dominate jobsites, concrete, quarries, landfill, towing, roadwork, recovery—any dirty job,” Randall said.
The Granite features Mack’s new MP13 engine, offering up to 540 hp and 1,950 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine’s new piston design delivers fuel efficiency gains of 3%. Paired with the mDrive transmission, available in 12-, 13-, and 14-speed configurations, the Granite shifts 30% faster, offering even more fuel efficiency and a better ride, Randall said.
A Cummins X10 engine is also available with the Granite, paired with an Allison transmission. The X10 provides 350 to 450 hp and up to 1,650 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Granite cab is now also 9 in. wider, increasing cab comfort, and the interior was designed with driver feedback.
“Everything in this cab was designed around the driver,” Vince Lokers, specialist chief designer, Mack Trucks, said in a press release. “We focused on creating a driver-centric, commanding, ergonomic layout with wrap-around controls and high visibility. Features like our new steering column-mounted shifter, flat-bottom steering wheel, and electric brakes were all positioned in their best ergonomic position based on direct driver feedback.”
Much of the interior design also carries over from the Mack Pioneer and new Anthem, which launched last year. The interior comes in three different trim levels, a digital instrument cluster, and three-way adjustable steering column.
The Granite is also designed to simplify upfits with its new “intelligent architecture,” BodyLink IV. The BodyLink IV offers “a completely redesigned electrical architecture enabling new customizable logic and diagnostics. The system supports flexible switches and system controllers that can be programmed, enabling virtual interlocks and automations to improve upfit, productivity, and safety,” Mack said in a release. Essentially, BodyLink IV offers “plug-and-play ease for faster upfits,” Randall explained.
The all-new Mack Keystone
Built for the versatility needed for on- and off-road hauling demands, the all-new Mack Keystone offers the same integrated Mack powertrain and intelligent features but offers specific benefits, too. Not only that, but the Mack Keystone is going places—literally. The Keystone will be the first Mack product of this class available in Latin America.
Allowing the truck to perform well in both on- and off-road environments is a high ground clearance, approach angle, and “robust” suspension system, Mack stated in a release. Additionally, the transmission features grade gripper to prevent rollbacks, rock-free mode to maneuver out of mud, and creeper mode for steep grades. Owners can choose between axle-forward and axle-back configurations.
Inside, the Keystone features a “distinctive exterior design that balances modern aesthetics with the rugged characteristics expected of a vocational tractor,” a release states. The design is reminiscent of the Mack R Model, but it also incorporates contemporary styling, Mack said.
Both trucks feature Mack technology and comfort
The Mack Granite and Mack Keystone feature cabs that double as a driver’s “private sanctuary,” Roy said, and “on a scale of 1 to 10, Keystone and Granite crank the comfort level to an 11,” Randall chimed in.
The Mack Keystone is available as a day cab, 44-in. sleeper, and 64-in. sleeper, while the Granite is available as a day cab or 44-in. sleeper. Both trucks are also available with Mack’s premium heated and ventilated seats that feature lumbar support, massage, and swivel air shock. Mack’s Command Steer is available with both models, easing steering by up to 85%.
A new suspension adds even more comfort to the ride of the Keystone and Granite. The available all-new Maxride air ride suspension features eight electronically tuned airbags and ride height control. “Even rough, uneven roads feel smoother, more comfortable, and drivers feel and are more in control,” Randall said.
Mack’s next-generation safety features are also included with both models. The Mack Protect safety suite includes:
- Adaptive cruise control
- Automatic emergency braking
- Frontal collision and rollover protective action
- Forward collision warning
- Forward and side pedestrian detection
- Lane change and blind spot support
- Lane departure warning
- Lane keeping assist
- Oversteer guidance
- Road sign ID
- Side curtain airbags
- Traffic stop and go
The models are available with Mack’s digital mirror system, enabling drivers to see more of their surroundings in any lighting and any weather conditions. Mack CommandView, a situational awareness suite, is also available with the trucks. This suite of features is powered by radars and four HD cameras to offer drivers a 360-degree view of the truck. Adding to Mack’s technology stack is its new load-sensing software, designed to optimize payload using sensors that “warn against overloads and underloads,” Randall explained.
In addition, the Mack Granite features the Mack ImpactShield windshield standard (available on the Keystone). The lightweight ImpactShield is four times more impact-resistant than Mack’s standard windshield and provides better optics for the driver.
Both the Mack Granite and the Mack Keystone will be available for order in the back half of 2026.
