Yokohama ultra-wide-base tires at Love’s Truck Tire Care locations

May 5, 2014

Two of  Yokohama Tire Corp.’s  (YTC) ultra wide base (UWB) truck tires- the TY517 (drive) and RY407 (trailer)--  will be available at the 191 Truck Tire Care locations operated across the country by the Love’s Travel Stop network. Both tires will come in size 445/50R22.5.

“This is great news for drivers and fleets across the U.S.,” said Rick Phillips, YTC senior director, commercial & OTR sales. “Now our fleet and owner-operator customers can get our ultra wide base tires and technology at more locations.”

He added that Love’s Travel Stops are open seven days a week, 24 hours a day to service fleets and noted that “this will assist in minimizing a driver’s downtime by having these products available when they need them the most. Plus, Love’s is a Yokohama SmartSolution-certified service provider”

“Love’s has always adhered to its promise to provide drivers with solutions,” said Dan Jensen, director-tire sales and service for Love’s Travel Stops. “We’ve been pleased with the quality of Yokohama’s products. Adding the ultra wide base option to the Love’s Truck Tire Care lineup is another way we can fulfill our commitment and meet the needs of more drivers.”

Phillips said the TY517 is designed to improve the bottom line of fleets by delivering outstanding traction, long, even wear, extraordinary durability and increased retreadability.

The RY407– a SmartWay-verified tire– features an ultra-low profile that offers excellent fuel efficiency and vastly increased tread life, per Phillips, adding up to increased payloads.
