ParkPro recently launched a new driver-led voting feature that allows commercial drivers to suggest locations for new truck parking. The company, which provides commercial truck parking solutions nationwide, offers this tool for free on its web platform and app, giving drivers access to hundreds of underutilized facilities on an interactive map.
Drivers can use the feature to signal where they feel parking is needed, helping ParkPro respond without requiring time-consuming new parking projects. The feature comes as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) surveys the benefits of new truck parking spaces across the U.S., and it has the support of the Florida Trucking Association.
By leveraging ParkPro’s network of secure, pre-vetted properties, the transportation and logistics industry can recover an estimated 12% of the annual productivity lost while searching for truck parking, according to the American Trucking Associations (ATA).
“This tool allows drivers to signal where parking is needed now so we can respond quickly,” Tra Williams, CEO of ParkPro, stated. “As agencies continue to study the issue, drivers face real-world impacts—spending hours searching for parking, risking safety, and falling behind on delivery schedules, which can often affect their pay. We need to improve support for today’s drivers while long-term truck parking solutions are being developed.”
