Thermo King Corp. has added two-way satellite communications to its Trac-King system for mobile refrigeration units. Intended for longhaul carriers needing the coverage of a satellite system, the new option adds Vistar's GlobalWave MT2000 data communications terminals to Thermo King reefer units.
The weather sealed MT2000 terminals offer ubiquitous coverage throughout NAFTA markets. They can send information on reefer unit temperature, pressure and voltage, as well as location and speed. They also allow Trac-King users to receive alerts if pre-set temperatures are exceeded.
