Central Transport International Inc. has announced a general rate increase effective July 27.

The increase, which will average 5.48%, will apply to all of the company's geographic service areas and lanes. Absolute Minimum Charges will increase by $2.00 each.

The adjustments will apply to all of the company's non-contractual interstate and intrastate U.S. Domestic, U.S.-Canadian International and Canadian Domestic rates published in its 500, 555, 585 and 595 series tariffs.

The carrier said the increases are necessary because of the rising costs of insurance, security measures and other unforeseen expenses.
