Fleets accessing PCMiler routing and map data over the Internet have a new graphical user interface that allows them to view mileage, toll costs, driving directions and other information directly from any web browser, according to developer ALK Technologies. The new HTML interface offers direct web browser access to data. ALK's web services are hosted on Tier 1 data center servers and incorporate all the features of its PCMiler 23 application. www.alk.com
FedEx Corp. is rolling out a new service dubbed SenseAware that will combine a GPS sensor device and a web-based collaboration platform in one package. The new service will become available in the spring. A small sensor device placed inside individual packages works as a multimodal tracking and tracing solution that spans multiple transportation connections, providing near real-time visibility. www.fedex.com
