Goodyear Tire & Rubber reports its G395 LHS long-haul steer tire for Class 8 trucks, introduced last year, is proving to be one of the company’s most successful truck tire products ever and is now being spec’d as “factory standard” on all new International, Volvo, and – as of October -- Freightliner tractors.
“The G395 LHS has exceeded our sales expectations by far,” said Steve McClellan, Goodyear’s vp-commercial tire systems. “It’s selling because it’s performing.”
“Overall, the G395 LHS is a very robust tire,” said Joe Zekoski, Goodyear’s director of commercial tire technology. “There’s also more even pressure distribution across the footprint and much more consistent uniformity from tire to tire. That all translates into longer tread life, producing savings which go directly to the fleet’s and owner-operator’s bottom line.”
