Diesel falls 0.6 cents

The national average price for a gallon of diesel fell 0.6 cents to $2.442 for the week ending Jan. 1, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Although many regions posted a decline in prices, in some regions actually inched upwards. That was most notable in the Lower Atlantic region, where prices gained 0.4 cents to $2.42. Price took the largest dive in the Rocky Mountain region, falling 1.8 cents to $2.392—which happens to be the cheapest regional price. New England is once again the most expensive region in which to fill up, at $2.645 after a 0.2-cent hike.
