Lee's areas of responsibility include all Freightliner truck manufacturing plants and the company’s parts manufacturing business. He reports to Roger Nielsen, Freightliner COO.

Lee comes to Freightliner from DaimlerChrysler’s East London, South Africa, plant, where he had served as head of manufacturing since 1999. The plant builds Mercedes-Benz passenger cars. Prior to that, he held plant management positions at DaimlerChrysler’s Toledo Assembly Plant, which builds Jeep vehicles.

Lee succeeds Larry Cartwright, who will retire June 30 after 38 years of service with Freightliner.
