Replacing the yellow parking-brake release knob, the Braklok from Wapner Truck Alarm Systems completely disables a truck, even if the driver leaves the engine idling to unload freight. Featuring a high-security hardened lock cylinder, the device can be installed in about one hour without disconnecting or cutting air brake lines, according to the manufacturer.

The Braklok can be keyed alike for an entire fleet or ordered with individual keys and a master for management. It can also be keyed to work with the company's alarm systems and rear rollup door locks, forcing drivers to close and lock all doors before they can release a truck's parking brakes. Although the installation is permanent, Wapner says the Braklok can be removed and reinstalled on another vehicle.
