At the CeBit Conference Monday, in Hannover, Germany, RFTrax and Identec announced that they have partnered to combine Identec’s RFID-based technology with RFTrax’s multimode sensory asset management solution. Together, the products will enable companies to monitor and track assets throughout their entire journey from warehouse to shipping destinations.

The combined technologies will enable manufacturers, suppliers and transportation carriers to gain broader visibility into cargo conditions, such as temperature, shock, vibration and container intrusion, in order to take action before problems occur, the companies reported.

“Our customers are looking for RFID technology with sensory capabilities,” said Gerhard Schedler, CEO of Austrian-based Identec Solutions, a global provider of Intelligent Asset Management systems that uses RFID to deliver real-time information on mobile resources to maximize control and value in all areas of the supply chain.

“By integrating the unique RFTrax sensory technology platform into our products, we can provide intelligent data associated with assets in transit, so companies have greater visibility into the conditions surrounding and impacting their assets. This allows them to make critical supply chain decisions in real time based on a more complete view of what is happening to their assets during the journey,” he explained.

Hay Haygood, CEO of RFTrax, said, “By connecting our sensory technology to Identec’s intelligent RFID tags, our customers can now track their assets at the pallet level…..The powerful combination of our technologies offers customers more detailed visibility into asset location and surrounding conditions, as well as end-to-end tracking capabilities.” RFTrax is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fairfield Industries, a global electronic manufacturing company headquartered in Sugar land, TX.
