LOUISVILLE. Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) is exhibiting its commercial truck tires certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay program here at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

The Bridgestone R287 steer, R280 steer, M720 drive, R195F trailer, and Greatec wide-base drive and trailer are currently SmartWay-certified. To be approved, tires must achieve at least 3% better total vehicle fuel economy than the EPA-defined average.

“Bridgestone brand SmartWay-certified tires are designed to aid in decreasing rolling resistance or the amount of drag created by tires as the vehicle runs down the highway,” said Chris Hoffman, manager, TBR & retread product marketing.“These tires are designed to help reduce heat loss as they flex and unflex when rolling into and out of contact with the pavement.”
