Wabash National Corp. today announced that it has completed its acquisition of flatbed and dropdeck trailer manufacturer Transcraft Corp. The acquisition makes Wabash National the largest semi-trailer manufacturer in North America based on combined 2005 unit volume, Wabash said.

The all cash purchase price is approximately $71 million, with possibly another $4.5 million added if Transcraft achieves certain 2006 performance targets. Transcraft posted 2005 annual sales of approximately $118 million. The company will maintain its manufacturing operations in Anna, IL, and Mt. Sterling, KY. Transcraft was a portfolio company of Lincolnshire Management Inc., a middle-market private equity investment firm.
