LTL carrier Con-Way Transportation Services is offering customers the ability to receive invoices via e-mail, regardless of how they originally submitted the paperwork to the company.

Conway vp-information services Jacquelyn Barretta said those using the invoice-via-email service should be able to reduce data entry time, increase data entry accuracy, eliminate paper storage of invoices and improve speed and accuracy of invoice processing.

Con-Way added that the new e-business feature would also enable users to more quickly complete background research on invoices. The PDF will contain hyperlinks to a document-imaging site where they can retrieve, view and print copies of the bill of lading and delivery receipt for each shipment.
