American Trucking Assns. (ATA) announced the 12 captains of its 2001-2003 America's Road Team last month. Team members will represent ATA for the next two years, speaking about a number of transportation issues, including highway safety. The following drivers were appointed to the 2001 team: Robert St. John, Jevic Transportation; David Bowers, Yellow Freight Systems; Howard Shields, Schneider Transportation;

Robert Kleinschmidt, Con-Way Central Express;
Daniel Hiser, ABF Freight System;
James Curtis, ABF Freight System;
Jennifer Zinkel, FedEx Ground;
Paul Barnes, Pottle's Transportation;
Ina Daly, Con-Way Western Express;
Daniel Poole, Boeing Co.;
Michael Bridgman, Ryder System.
Each road team member has traveled at least 1-million miles without an accident.
