ATA names road team

American Trucking Assns. (ATA) announced the 12 captains of its 2001-2003 America's Road Team last month. Team members will represent ATA for the next two years, speaking about a number of transportation issues, including highway safety. The following drivers were appointed to the 2001 team: Robert St. John, Jevic Transportation; David Bowers, Yellow Freight Systems; Howard Shields, Schneider Transportation;

American Trucking Assns. (ATA) announced the 12 captains of its 2001-2003 America's Road Team last month. Team members will represent ATA for the next two years, speaking about a number of transportation issues, including highway safety.

The following drivers were appointed to the 2001 team:

  • Robert St. John, Jevic Transportation;

  • David Bowers, Yellow Freight Systems;

  • Howard Shields, Schneider Transportation;

  • Charles McClellan, M.S. Carriers;

  • Robert Kleinschmidt, Con-Way Central Express;

  • Daniel Hiser, ABF Freight System;

  • James Curtis, ABF Freight System;

  • Jennifer Zinkel, FedEx Ground;

  • Paul Barnes, Pottle's Transportation;

  • Ina Daly, Con-Way Western Express;

  • Daniel Poole, Boeing Co.;

  • Michael Bridgman, Ryder System.

Each road team member has traveled at least 1-million miles without an accident.
