In-vehicle telematic use will grow eight-fold into the next decade with revenues for subscribers reaching nearly $20 billion in the U.S., Europe and Japan, according to “Telematics 2007 and Beyond: The New Era of Networks and Applications,” by Lynnette Luna, a consultant with Visant Strategies.

“The telematics industry has always been innovative and produced decent numbers but the evolution of mobile wireless networks, handsets, operating systems, components and the growing number of meaningful applications all spell good fortune for in-vehicle providers and mobile carriers,” she says.
