Valvoline Co. of Lexington, Ky., and Cummins Inc., of Columbus, Ind., have signed a second five-year sales and marketing alliance, which during the last term contributed to both companies’ domestic and international growth.

Cummins will continue to endorse and recommend Valvoline’s Premium Blue engine oil for their heavy-duty diesel engines and to sell it through its distributor and dealer channels. Cummins engine plants will also use lubricants, oils and greases supplied by Valvoline.

“This indicates just how successful the first five years have been,” said Jim Rocco, senior vp of Valvoline. “We’re very excited about continuing this relationship and believe it allows both Cummins and Valvoline to be innovative in serving the heavy-duty market.”

The two companies actively promote Valvoline’s Premium Blue oils and report they are working together to meet the new 2002 American Petroleum Institute (API) requirements for oils to be used in future engines. Additionally, Cummins maintains its own set of engine oil standards, and Valvoline has been among the first to meet key standards such as CES20076.
