Yellow Corp. today announced it will implement simple object access protocol (SOAP) to enable its shipping information to be automatically integrated with the electronic business systems of Yellow customers. Yellow Corp. today announced it will implement simple object access protocol (SOAP) to enable its shipping information to be automatically integrated with the electronic business systems of Yellow customers.

The new web service will allow customers to retrieve tracking information and incorporate it into their workflow, report and display processes. Yellow said it is the first company in the transportation services business to implement this type of service.

SOAP is an XML-based protocol for exchange of information in a decentralized, distributed environment.
