Designed for use with the company's hosted and web-based fleet management systems, the TracerNET MDU 200 onboard computer combines a GPS receiver, multiple inputs for vehicle sensors and peripheral devices, and support for a variety of analog and digital wireless communications networks.

The new OBC from TracerNET can support two-way messaging, automated vehicle and job tracking, and remote monitoring, as well as run printers, signature capture devices and point-of-sale electronic tools.

The OBC is the latest addition to TracerNET's Intelligent Mobile Asset Tracking (IMAT) platform. Used initially by a variety of vocational fleets, IMAT allows real-time data from vehicles to be integrated with a company's logistics and business management systems. TracerFleet is a hosted client/server software package intended for full integration with complex business systems, including ERP (extended resource planning) systems. TracerWEB is an ASP (application service provider) web-based system offering a turn-key fleet management system to small and midsized fleets.

The company says it currently has “several thousand fleet customers,” many of which use their systems to manage premix concrete fleets.
