Third party logistics provider C.H. Robinson Worldwide said it would make current president John P. Wiehoff its CEO effective May 7. D.R. "Sid" Verdoorn, C.H. Robinson's current chairman & CEO, will remain chairman.

The Minneapolis-based logistics provider said Wiehoff's new role is the culmination of a three-year succession process, during which he has taken over the day-to-day management of the company. Wiehoff was named president in 1999 after serving as a senior vp and CFO, and started with the company in 1992 as a controller.
