Trailer maker Wabash National Corp. has entered into a three-year purchase agreement with Prime Inc. for 3,000 refrigerated vans. Prime Inc. is the largest refrigerated carrier in North America, according to Wabash.

The deal calls for Wabash National’s ArcticLite trailers and includes the option for the carrier to expand the purchase to 5,000 units over the next six years. Trailer production is expected to begin in September.

“After much due diligence, we found that Wabash National possesses exceptional refrigerated trailer design and technology,” said Prime founder & CEO Robert Low. “Testing proved that the thermal efficiency of the Wabash National trailer allows Prime to support our customers with the best equipment available.”
