In recognition of their outstanding contributions in 2021, Endeavor Business Media has promoted two editors in its Commercial Vehicle Group. Cristina Commendatore will assume the editor-in-chief role at FleetOwner, the trucking industry's leading information source for more than 90 years. Senior Editor Josh Fisher will move into Commendatore's previous role as FleetOwner's executive editor.
In addition to leading the content team for print and digital products with the CV group’s flagship brand, Commendatore and Fisher also played key roles in several other engagement initiatives at Endeavor, including the launch of the Commercial Vehicle Technology—CV Tech—event, Private Fleet of the Year awards, the ongoing FleetOwner webinar series, and a range of other channels to connect trucking industry professionals with the information and services they need to run profitable businesses.
“These promotions are well-deserved. Cristina and Josh are well-respected in the industry for their knowledge, collaboration, and leadership,” said Michael Uliss, VP of the Commercial Vehicle Group at Endeavor. “I’m excited to see them take on incremental responsibilities and continue to drive the content that makes FleetOwner the leading information source for the commercial vehicle fleet industry.”
Both will continue to report to Kevin Jones, editorial director for the Commercial Vehicle brands at Endeavor.
“The pandemic roller coaster presented trucking fleets with some unprecedented challenges and opportunities, and I cannot say enough about the great work Cristina and Josh have done,” Jones said. “Their award-winning stories are the most obvious examples of what they bring to the market, but I’ve been really impressed with their behind-the-scenes leadership by example. They’ve each helped drive a really good editorial and production team to become truly exceptional in serving FleetOwner’s readers and, in turn, our advertising partners.”
Commendatore brings 13 years of professional reporting experience to her expanded role. She previously worked as digital editor for FleetOwner and American Trucker. Then, as senior editor for Waste360, she reported on transportation-related topics such as business operational challenges, driver and technician shortages, truck safety, and new vehicle technologies. Commendatore returned to FleetOwner in 2020. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.
Fisher joined FleetOwner in 2017 as the social media editor. He was named digital editor in 2018, technology editor in 2019, and senior editor in 2021. His recent prolific contributions have explained how the rise in AI and automation are changing the trucking industry, along with other focuses on transportation technology. Fisher also covers the economy, public policy, government regulations, and the supply chain for FleetOwner and its sister publications. Previously, he was an editor and director for a chain of newspapers and news websites in Connecticut and New York.
The Endeavor Commercial Vehicle group is made up of FleetOwner, Fleet Maintenance, Trailer/Body Builders, Refrigerated Transporter, Bulk Transporter, and For the Driver from American Trucker.
