Byrne Transportation hires VP of sales

William E. Smidl has been named VP-sales for family owned transportation broker Byrne Transportation Services.

Smidl brings with him more than 20 years of experience, most recently serving as national account manager for Roadrunner Transportation Services. Prior to that, he was sales manager with Old Dominion Freight Lines.

“Bill is one of the national leaders in the transportation sales field,” said John Byrne, VP and COO. “His background in the negotiation of multimodal carrier pricing and third-party operating agreements will prove of great value not only to us, but to our valued customers.
