Peterbilt dealership chain Rush Enterprises set trucks sales records for the third quarter this year across its lineup, including used vehicles.

Net income increased 22.6% to $16.4 million for the quarter, on 34.2% higher gross revenues of $651.3 million vs. 3Q 2005.

The company said it delivered 3,512 new heavy-duty trucks, 1,109 new medium-duty trucks and 999 used trucks during the quarter, compared to 2,648 new heavy-duty, 671 new medium-duty, and 890 used trucks in 3Q 2005.

Rush’s truck dealership division, posted revenues of $625.5 million compared to $467.8 million in the same quarter last year. Parts, service and body shop sales also jumped, climbing to $105.6 million vs. $88.6 million in 3Q 2005.
