Carlsson named president of Volvo Trucks North America

Per Carlsson has been appointed president and CEO of Volvo Trucks North America Division, effective January 1, 2008.

Per Carlsson has been appointed president and CEO of Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA), effective January 1, 2008.

Carlsson, who is currently responsible for Volvo Powertrain Sweden, will succeed Peter Karlsten, who will become president and CEO of Volvo Powertrain effective December 1. Karlsten will also assume the role of senior vp-technology for the Volvo Group and will serve on the Group Executive Committee.

CFO Lars Thoren will serve as acting president of VTNA.
