August (Gus) Wajda has been promoted to the position of technical support and quality assurance manager for Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America’s (MEAA) heavy-duty business.

Wajda will work in the company’s Northville, MI, facility.

Part of Wajda’s responsibilities will include traveling to heavy-duty truck dealerships to consult with technicians on MEAA heavy-duty starters and alternators. He will demonstrate techniques for diagnosing the charge-start electrical system, make recommendations for problem solving in the future, and train technicians on the proper use of approved tools, diagnostic equipment, and procedures for removing and installing Mitsubishi starters and alternators, the company said.

“This free service to the dealerships has proven to be a very popular offering by Mitsubishi Electric,” said Danny Ritter, national technical training manager. “With the appointment of Gus we are expanding this service which, in turn, allows technicians at the dealerships to provide even better service to their customers.”

Wajda has worked for Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America since 1996 in several engineering positions related to quality, warranty analysis and product improvement.
