Averitt Express has donated $500,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the largest donation ever made to a charitable organization by the company’s associate-giving program, Averitt Cares for Kids.

Over the course of its 22-year history, Averitt Cares for Kids has donated nearly $5 million to various charities, including $2.4 million to St. Jude’s—of which $1.5 million went towards the Averitt Express Leukemia/Lymphoma Clinic at St. Jude, the company said.

"We are so grateful to Averitt Express and its associates for their support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital," said David L. McKee, COO & interim CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising organization of St. Jude. "This generous gift will ensure that St. Jude can continue conducting groundbreaking research and providing lifesaving care for children from around the world."
