The Federal Motor Safety Administration (FMCSA) will hold a press conference on Thursday, January 11 at 10 a.m. to announce long-awaited details of the proposed rule regulating the use of electronic onboard recorders (EOBRs) in commercial trucks and buses.

FMCSA issued the Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on September 1, 2004, and the industry has been anticipating announcement of the proposal itself for well over a year.

Administrator John Hill will make the announcement at the agency’s Washington, DC, Headquarters.
