Interstate 80 lane closures ahead for truck scales project

April 30, 2012

Work on a project to relocate the Cordelia truck scales on Interstate 80 in Fairfield, CA, is scheduled to begin this week, resulting in five nights of overnight intermittent lane closures scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. Monday and be completed at 6 a.m. Saturday, weather permitting.

Starting today, crews will prepare for construction by installing safety barriers and adding temporary traffic striping along eastbound I-80 between the weigh station exit and the eastbound Highway 12 and eastbound I-80 interchange, according to a California Dept. of Transportation press release.

To ensure worker and public safety during the work, there will be overnight lane closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time in the area.
