More than 25 Ram trucks will tow all the floats in the 89th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, CNN reports.

1. More than 25 Ram trucks will tow all the floats in the 89th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, CNN reports. Ram will provide the parade with approximately 70 trucks and commercial vans, many of which, according to CNN, are used for behind-the-scenes functions leading up to the parade. CNN Money has more.

2. According to a Politico report, “The bipartisan push to deliver the first major highway bill in a decade is drowning out warnings from safety groups about big changes they say will make the nation’s roads more dangerous …” One of the “dangers” includes teenagers driving tractor-trailers. According to the report, lawmakers are grappling with how to balance the call for transportation safety measures with pushback from “high-powered industries.” Politico has more.  

3. Americans are buying more pickup trucks and driving more overall thanks to low gasoline prices, according to Fuel Fix. The sales of light trucks have made up more than 56% of all vehicle sales in the U.S., according to the report. Fuel Fix reports that the result was a slowdown in fuel economy growth last month, according to a Tudor Pickering & Holt report. Fuel Fix has more.

4. The 2016 Chevy Colorado Duramax has been named Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year, according to PickupTrucks.com. According to the report, the Colorado won the same award last year. Motor Trend awards are based on six criteria: safety, value, efficiency, advancement in design, engineering excellence, and performance of intended design.

5. The Courier reports that Sherri Garner Brumbaugh, president and CEO of Garner Trucking, has been elected vice chairman of the American Trucking Association. According to the Courier, she has 25 years of experience in the trucking industry and has played various roles in national and state trucking associations.
